    Inspired by Japanese cultural traditions and my recent trip to Kyoto, Japan, with my son, this Koi Fish painting workshop explores symbolism, movement, and glazing techniques for water effects in acrylic painting. The Koi fish symbolises strength and perseverance, making this a meaningful and technically rewarding workshop for older primary students. Students will learn: Layering and glazing techniques How to paint water transparencies Composition with koi fish, lily pads and lotus flowers   Each child will complete a finished canvas artwork to take home.     This mixed media workshop focuses on creating a detailed Mixed media portrait of the native Australian Gang Gang Cockatoo. Students will: Build a layered background Develop observational drawing skills Explore collage and painting techniques Learn proportion and placement Children will create two cockatoos within their composition, resulting in a striking framed artwork ready to display.
