Glossy Black-Cockatoo Mixed-Media Workshop | Ages 6–8 Date: Wednesday 30 September 2026 Time: 9 am-3 pm Celebrate one of Australia’s remarkable native birds in our Glossy Black-Cockatoo Mixed-Media Workshop. Created for children aged 6–8, this workshop introduces young artists to the glossy black-cockatoo and its resilient recovery following the devastating Australian bushfires of 2019–20. Students will learn to sketch various postures of the Glossy Black Cockatoo, then create a drawing of a couple of Glossy Black Cockatoos sitting in a native casuarina tree. They will use crayon, adding expressive colour and detail with watercolours. Along the way, they will explore shape, texture and composition while developing an appreciation for Australian wildlife and its habitats. Each child will complete a beautiful framed artwork to take home.
