As we are experiencing a time of change Art Box Workshops Co-Founders Julia Sawicki and Basia Zielinska have been working hard to offer our Easter school holiday video tutorials online.

We researched many options of how to deliver the classes safely to your children. We had news reports that Zoom live stream is not safe for children due to malware issues, and lack of laptops or PC in a family household would limit the window of opportunity for students to join a class during one dedicated time so we decided to provide Pre-recorded art classes. Each class has 5-minute videos for each step of the process and supporting downloadable PDF’s.

I developed tailored classes to suit each age group (6 – 8 and 9 – 12-year-olds) that I released on specific dates.

Students had the freedom to attend each class during the week at a time that suited them, and I focused my time responding and assisting to any inquires or questions sent through on the online classroom.

Another concern for our online art classes was the availability of art materials. Due to COVID-19, I had doubts for a reliable source of art supplies, especially online postal services. Therefore, I tailored our online classes with readily accessible art materials from Officeworks, Kmart, Big W, Target and Newsagencies.

We offered the Easter school Holiday online art classes by donation. It was totally up to parents how much they felt that they could contribute during uncertain times and I would like to say thank you for the generous support.

Creatively yours
