Kookaburra Sculpture Workshop | Ages 6–8

Date: Friday 9 October 2026
Time: 9 am-3 pm

Embark on a delightful creative adventure in our Kookaburra Clay Sculpture Workshop.

Designed for children aged 6–8, this hands-on workshop introduces young artists to the foundations of three-dimensional design. Students will learn how to shape, join and texture air-drying clay as they construct a charming kookaburra inspired by one of Australia’s best-loved native birds.

Once the sculpture is formed, students will use acrylic paints to add feathers, markings and individual character. Every child will take home a unique, hand-painted kookaburra sculpture.

Students will:

  • Draw and design their Kookaburra.
  • Learn clay construction techniques
  • Paint and finish techniques for sculpture

They will be sculpting in  air-drying clay that takes five to 6 days to dry once taken home

Teacher: Julia Sawicki
Age group: 6–8 years
Materials: Air-drying clay and acrylic paint
Approximate sculpture size: 18 cm; finished dimensions will vary
Location: Art Box Workshops, Neutral Bay, Sydney

Active and Creative Kids vouchers are accepted.

If you would like your 6- 8-year-old child to experience a mixed media workshop, I would suggest.
